Hugs

Has anyone found a great devotion book for moms? I want one that focus on younger children so I can relate more. This is the only one I have found. It sounds good, but their are no reviews of it out there.
Lessons My Toddler Taught Me: A Devotional for Mothers of Young Children by Anita S. Lane

I took some pictures of Taylynn and Preston hugging.

Have a great weekend!

baby update

So I went to the Dr yesterday, everything went great. I told her about the strong movements above my belly button and she said it can't be the baby it must the baby's bowels that I am feeling and since I had a C section I must have a split in the muscle. So I guess what I thought was the baby was not.
I think it is strange because I was so sure, everything about the movement feels like a baby. It seemed much bigger than baby bowels so I don't know. I think this baby just moves around a lot.
Everything looked good. No weight gain yet, the baby's heart beat sounded great. I have a sonogram coming up so I am excited to see the baby and check the health and growth.

Yesterday after my appointment's I went shopping ALONE! I was pretty lonely I missed the kids, but I got things done so much faster. Gap had a great sale so I bought a bag full. Jcpenny has some cute maternity things on sale so I bought this
I am getting ready to go only line at Old Navy and Buy this because I am ready for spring and our store doesn't have it in yet.

I need a swim suit by the end of February for the Great Wolf Lodge, but I don't like to buy unless I can try on first and so far no one has them at the stores.
I really like this one at Target.
I am ready for spring and the count down is on. 52 days!!!

Learning God's word

" I am going to relax and read my Bible" - Taylynn Rae

This was one of the cutest moments and I was lucky to have my camera next to me. I must admit, she also calls the phone book a Bible.

I just asked her what was in a Bible and no joke this is what she just said. "It's about Jesus and ummm......... pizza" Ha!

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is full of living power. It is sharper than the sharpest knife, cutting deep into our innermost thoughts and desires. It exposes us for what we really are.

LIFE

Update on Baby B's movement. I went one day having fluttering in my tummy to the next day feeling and seeing the baby move in my tummy. I can tell how tiny this baby is, but oh so sweet!
It was strange that I could feel the baby and watch it move so early. Also the baby was above my belly button, I thought the baby was supposed to be much lower. Something I'll have to ask my Dr about tomorrow.

It is a beautiful feeling.

In the mean time the kids find their own way to entertain themselves. Can you guess what is going on here?

Look kinda strange? That's because it is................

I told them not to eat the bears, but I forgot to keep and eye on them. Lets just think they threw them in the trash. Ha!

So What

Taylynn has been a fan of Pinks So What song for a while. This Christmas we received Wii Karaoke for Christmas and it happened to have So What on the song list. The game has been put to good use by our family. Taylynn loves it the most.

Here she is singing So What. Enjoy!

How can you no love this girl! She is a true rock star, ha!

Cheese

Today we had some friends over for lunch I made grilled cheese sandwiches, but not with just any cheese. I used Gruyere cheese and sourdough bread. For those who have seen the Devil Wears Prade, the boyfriend made this for Andy and see turned it down to watch her weight. She made a mistake! Ha.

I also made cranberry salad and had some fresh beautiful grapes for dessert I made my favorite, chocolate mousse.

The most wonderful part was spending time with my friends. Nothing beats that.

Movement

I have flutters in my tummy. I felt them for the first time yesterday, the day I turned 14 weeks.
It is a reminder of how good and amazing God is.

My dreams

For a while now I have been waiting for the day to come when Taylynn and Preston would want to play together and laugh together. It has come!!! They both got Tag readers and they love them. I caught them in Taylynn's room with the door shut, doing this. I was joyful. Preston has always loved his big sister and tried to do everything like her, now Taylynn is realizing Preston can actually do somethings with her and they have fun!

Another dream is to get Preston potty trained. He will go number one on the potty and sometimes number two, but I have 5 and 1/2 months to get him completely out of diapers. I am a free will kind of mom, so I am waiting for him to be ready, just cheering him on all the way.

Another dream is this house. I have been in love with it for almost 5 years. I have no clue what the inside looks like, and it's not on sale, but I want it!
I love the feel of an older house, yet not old. This house is no more than 10 years old, but it has the style of a old bungalow house. It is in our area so I'll be keeping an eye on it, not that we can afford it, but I might get a part time job for this house.
I do have bigger dreams, like my children loving Jesus and knowing Him better than themselves. I have dreams of happiness for them and that they find true love in this partially dark world. I am lucky that I can do more than dream these dreams, I can pray everyday for them and hopefully stick around to watch God work in their lives.

Love is in the air

I finally got around to doing some Valentines decorating

It is not much, but it is fun and different and most importantly the only holiday with lots of pink!
I am not sure where we are going for Valentines, but I am looking forward to it. Also I have been thinking of special things to do for the kids, so if you have any fun ideas let me know.

3 day weekend

This weekend was busy and eventful, but we made some memories I hope I can hold on to forever.

Thursday night Taylynn and Preston cooked us dinner. We had pancakes, eggs and bacon.
It is always fun having breakfast for dinner, Preston really loved it.
Aaron got off Friday because he had an extra day of vacation to use. So we took the kids to the library so they could sing and dance at Musical Story Time. As we were leaving Taylynn had a huge meltdown, it got even worse when I didn't check her movie out because of the way she was acting, which made it worse. We proceeded to go to Sam's Club for lunch, but the meltdown continued. I had to sit in the car with her for about 5 minutes until she calmed down and could say she was sorry. She is getting stubborn like me, watch out!

The rest of the day went great after naps. We took the kids to Baskin Robbins for dinner, they loved it. Taylynn got a wild sherbet ice cream and Preston got Reese's peanut butter cup. Taylynn ate most of her ice cream and all of what Preston didn't eat.
I did cook some potato soup for dessert, I had to make it extra healthy to make up for the ice cream, so I added flax seed and lots of veggies. They seemed to like it.

That night we watched Snow White while following along with Taylynn's Snow White book.
Saturday we took my Mother in Law to Panera for lunch then did some shopping at the mall. That night Aaron and I had a date night. We went to Applebees for dinner then Kohl's to do some shopping for Aaron. I think he tried on 20 pairs of jeans and we didn't find anything. We went to Gap and JcPenney and all he walked away with was two polo shirts. I did get an adorable maternity dress though.

Sunday we went to church came home napped and went to Life Group. Great weekend. It will be even better when it is warm outside and we can get fresh air, but for now we might have to get ice cream every Friday.

Little models

Every year I have entered a picture into Regis and Kelly's Beautiful baby search. I have not won, obviously or I'd brag more.
My kids are beautiful, but not so much photogenic. I do get some great shots of them, but it takes about 3o pictures to get a great one. I take a lot.
So the other day we did some photo shoots. Taylynn is great at posing and moving around, but I can't seem to snap the picture at the right moment. And Preston wants nothing to do with it.
Here is what I got, and all I got:
I just thought this was funny

So unless I have another chance to dress them up and happen to get a good shot, then we won't be entering this year.
I wouldn't be so picky but the final pictures are adorable and the favorites of thousands of photos. The picture needs to stand out from the crowd.

These were some pictures of Taylynn posing with her new suit on. She was showing it off. I didn't even tell her to stand sideways and look at me, she just did it. So cute.
We'll be using this suit when we go on our mini vacation to Great Wolf Lodge, so excited! And this is what Preston does with his clothes.

2010

New Years Eve we celebrated the best way possible. We stayed home and stayed up. Well everyone but Preston was awake for the clock to strike 11. He was tired so at about 9pm we put him in bed.
Taylynn did great. We watched some movies and played wii games and just had fun. She loved the fact that we got to jump and dance around for no reason.

We are looking forward to this year, so far it has been great.

I usually don't make a New Year resolution, but I am always trying to grow and trust in the Lord more and more.

'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord,

'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,'

Anniversary

December 30th was Aaron and I's 4th year anniversary. We celebrated with a nice dinner at Chez Yasu, a local fine dining french restaurant. It was so good. I didn't take pictures there because it was too fancy, I didn't want to look silly.

I received these beautiful Porterfield flowers and they are still looking good today. Lilies are my favorite flower.Notice the sweet man in the back doing some dishes.
It was a great day and we have many more anniversaries to come.

Girls Night and 13 weeks

I am about 13 weeks, although I think I look like I am 6 months! Ha. I have not gained weight yet, or lost weight. I no longer have nausea, just headaches. My next appointment isn't until the end of January, so really nothing new until then, unless I feel movement. I have thought I have felt a little baby, but nothing constant yet.

Girls Night

Ok, so last night we made some yummy fondue. We started with Gruyere cheese. It is the only cheese fondue I make. I stick to what is really good.

Of course we couldn't just do cheese. So I made some Snickers chocolate fondue. Oh it was so good. I have a Melting Pot recipe book and I love using it. The snickers was from the book. The ingredients were simple, chocolate, caramel and chunky peanut butter.
We missed Katie last night, she had some state to state dinner at the Governor's House, geez louise. Who would want to do that over girls night, ha!
