Update on Kaitlyn

My sister in law, Deborah (Kaitlyn's mom) sent this email so I thought I would pass it along to you:

"Yesterday the doctor read over her EKG results and found that the hole was only moderate in size and somewhat restrictive. It's not a hole in the heart itself, it's what is known as a PDA which most newborns have until birth when it closes up. He thinks her's has already started to close up now so he's opted to forego the medication and see if it will close on it's own. The nurses told me today that the doctor is going to resume her feedings today. So it looks like we're back on track and the doctor said that he doesn't believe she will stay all the way until her due date at all. She's progressing much faster than that. I will see the doctor again at noon to find out exactly when and how much her feeds will be."

Yay! Thank you for those who prayed, keep praying if you will.

I can't wait to meet Kaitlyn, I don't think it will be until October, but we're planning to go once Chandler is born.

Sweet Baby Kaitlyn

On August 24th my sweet niece was born 6 weeks early. She is in the NICU in Arkansas and needs some prayers sent her way. She was born a good size, 5 pounds 7 ounces, but she was still going to have to stay in the NICU possibly until she reached her due date.

Up until yesterday I think we all thought she was doing better, but then the Doctors found a heart murmur that lead to finding a hole in her heart. She has been put back on her IV in hopes that an antibiotic will close the hole. Although I do believe medicine helps, I know prayer is even a stronger tool for healing.
If you would say a little prayer for Kaitlyn and her parents Robert and Deborah. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. Psalm 91:4

No more monkeys jumping on the bed.....PRESTON!!!!!

On August 17th Preston had a little accident. This was our first bloody accident that sent us to the emergency room. We are not 100% sure what happened, but from what we can understand from him and the set up of our room, he was jumping off our bed onto the floor and hit his head on the dresser drawer on the way down.
I think it looked worse than it was because he never really seem to be in pain, I think he was just really scared. Aaron drove him to the hospital while I stayed with the girls and waited for Oma to arrive. Aaron said he cried the whole way to the hospital, but when I got there he was almost jumping off the walls....such a boy!
It took a lot of waiting, but Preston was patient and happy. They measured the gash on his head and said it was about 5cm. Wow! They used a liquid on gauze that numbed his head. It was really cold and I was told that would be the worst part. After about 20 minutes of the gauze on his head they began the staples. I held Preston hands and he was doing great. 5 staples in and no tears, but the 6, 7 and 8th made him cry a little bit, but he was tough. It broke my heart to seem him like this, but I was incredible proud of him.
We got to leave the hospital right after that and Aaron took him to get a milkshake and slushy from Sonic. And I headed home to get the girls ready for bed.
Here are some pictures, BUT ONLY LOOK AT THEM IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH OPEN WOUNDS.......IT'S NOT A PRETTY SIGHT!

The next day with staples:
I love my little man and I am so glad he is well and all better. The staples came out on Saturday and he is 100% back to normal. Thank you Lord for taking such good care of him!

Crafting

I am in the midst of decorating a wall and so far this is what I have. It will be all done once I get some chicken wire and some things go on sale at Hobby Lobby. Really excited about how this is going to turn out.

Here are the projects I worked on yesterday:

I bought some wallet size frames at Michaels for $1.99 and painted them off white.
Then I backed them with wire burlap and scrapbook paper. I did line the letter 'O' with ric rac.........it needed something.

This was just something I printed up on some paper with our family names.

I have seen so many yarn wreaths and love them, but wanted a more Shabby Chic look so I used twine.
Come back soon (hopefully next week) and the wall will be done!

Chandler

Dear Chandler,
Yes, you get a letter too. You're not in my arms yet, but you are mine and we have already shared some special times. I am writing this to let you know how much I love you before I even really know you.
I pray for you everyday and think about you all the time (how could I not). We are all really excited to meet you and love on you. Only 39 more days!!!!!
I am preparing for your arrival everyday. I have your clothes ready and hung in the closet. You don't have a bed yet, and I am still not sure what your going to sleep in, but we'll figure it out soon enough. I am working on your baby mobile and let me tell you it's going to be really cute! Here is a picture that inspired me:
Preston is excited to have you in his room. I either need to add your name on the wall along side his name or change Preston's name to Brothers. I have got some cute ideas for this, but I haven't made any decision. I do have 39 days left :)

I enjoy preparing for your arrival. Maybe I go over the top by making banners for the hospital room, but I am just so excited. We are all really excited.

I cannot wait to meet you and watch you grow up and teach you about your Heavenly Father. I am not the perfect mommy, but I will love you more than anyone else here on Earth and so will your daddy. See you soon!

Love,
Mommy
