Piece of my day

A quiet moment with my husband at dinner. I truly get lost in his smile even more than I did 10 years ago. I am quite fond of this man!

Wichita

My sister and her family just moved to Wichita and we went on a mini trip to go see them, my parents (who were also visiting), their new house and stop in an antique store on the way (this will be a separate post).

My parents set up an Easter egg hunt and it was a perfect day for it. The kids had a great time. I wasn't sure how Alayna would do, but she loved it and really had a good time finding her own eggs. I was a proud momma!

My parents had a chance to spend some good quality time with the grandchildren while my sister and brother in law went to a wedding.

My mom and I decorated parts of my sisters kitchen to help her get settled. I didn't take any pictures, but I thought it looked really cute! And we did it in about an hour.

It was a great trip and we'll get to see Mollie next week and my parents in a few weeks!

Piece of my day

My friend Amy took Taylynn and Preston for a few hours in the afternoon and I got some alone time with Alayna and Chandler. We swang and it reminded me of When Taylynn was that little and she ran through the yard so carefree just like Taylynn did.
Chandler sat in his little car as content as could be. He loves the outdoors and never cries when he is outside.

Piece of my day

Watching my baby feed my other baby. She wasn't the best at it, but she sure loves being a big sister. One day she's going to love being a mommy and she'll be the BEST at it.

Piece of my day

Since the days seem to go by faster than minutes I am going to do a quick post everyday with one of the best moments from the day. It might be a moment from each child or just one, but this is to help me remember the joy through it all.....

March 26, 2012

While praying with Preston, he thanked the Lord for....."my mommy, I love her soooo much".

I could go on about how it melted my heart and all, but I want this to be short, so that I will actually do it everyday.

Lets see if I can keep it up everyday!!!!

Dinner swap

My MOPS group had a meal swap. This was my first ever and it was pretty neat! I made 9 meals and a couple extra for some friends in need. It took a while, but it was worth it. I only sent Aaron to the store one time while putting them all together......I ran out of cheese!

Anyway I made Cheesy Enchiladas, my go to meal when cooking for new moms. And it's kid friendly so I thought all the families would like it.

I set up all my pans and got all the food ready and made my own assembly line, it took 2 hours, but it worked.

In return for sharing my 9 meals, I got 9 fabulous meals back. It is so great to not have to cook once or twice a week. I have only had three meals so far, and they were GREAT! I love this idea. It's something you could do with friends or neighbors, so if you get the chance DO IT!!!

I hope to do this again soon. The only down fall is freezer space, but we made it work!

St Patricks celebrations

I have never really celebrated this holiday, but this year for some reason I went all out. I guess I was looking for an excuse to be creative :)

Friday was Taylynn's last day before Spring Break and the day before St Patricks Day. I decided to make some special treats for Taylynn's classmates, teacher and school staff.
I made some jello rainbow cups (took way too long, but looks really cute) and some leprechaun hats.

For her teacher and the school staff I made a REALLY good spinach dip with toasted shamrock chips. You can get the recipe HERE.

We had a special lunch too!

That night we had some friends over for dinner. I had some of the same treats I made for the preschool, but for the adults I made a chilled chocolate grasshopper, you can find the recipe HERE
Sometime early Saturday morning a leprechaun came in and decorated our house and left us a yummy breakfast. He wrote on our mirrors and gave us a little green makeover.

We went to the parade with some of our neighbors and had a really good time.

The rest of the day we relaxed and played outside. Busy weekend but one I hope to always remember.
I think they were looking for four leaf clovers :)
