Trick or Treat....before Halloween night

We have already been trick or treating three times!!!!! Our first event was in downtown Topeka. It was cold out but we met Keri and her kids and they all had a blast!

The next day Aaron had a Halloween party at work so I picked up Taylynn and Preston early from school to go to the celebration.

Today my MOPS group went to a retirement home to visit and trick or treat.

DIY Halloween bowling

For Taylynn's Kindergarten class I am bringing a few games to entertain. For one game I bought a bean bag toss last year after Halloween, this will be used for years to come.
For the other game I decided to make a Halloween bowling game using the bowling set we already had on hand.

For the supplies I needed masking tape, pins and a marker. This only took me 10 minutes or less and it's ok for the pins to look messy, they are meant to be mummies......or ghost, I'll leave that up to the kids.

I wrapped the tape around to cover the pin and marked some eyes. I then took the stem off a fairly round small pumpkin and ta da! SIMPLE!!!

Treat bags for school

For Taylynn and Preston's school Halloween party I  signed up to bring treat bags. I had a fun time making them, but I am glad its behind me! That was a lot of bags!!!!!!

Inside I filled them with ghost suckers with glittery eyes, tattoos, chocolate and butterfinger covered pretzels, teeth, funny glasses rings and a glow stick for Halloween night. I hope they like them!

How I Became a Pirate

Last Sunday Preston and I went on a double date to lunch and a live theater. We went with Keri and Kieren and saw How I Became a Pirate. The boys had a great time, all the pirates who dressed up got to go on the stage and get a prize, Preston was too shy, but Kieren stepped right up.

I love time with just one of my children at a time, they can just be so different and SWEET!!!!

We have a fun filled Halloween week ahead of us, lots of pictures to come!

Haunted girls night

I planned a girls night as a thank you to two of my friends that helped me set up and clean up Chandler's party.
Since it is so close to Halloween I made caramel apples, bloody marys, red velvet cupcakes, red pepper hummas and I bought a variety of olives and money bags from a local Thai restaurant
Taylynn joined us for a bit and Keri, Taylynn and I were all wearing sparkle shoes by chance so I took this picture:
Thank ya'll for your help, I appreciate it so much!!!!

Colorado- Girls trip!!!!

My best friend Lindsey lives in Colorado and my other best friend, Keri is her sister and she lives just down and around the corner from me so Keri and I went for a road trip to see Lindsey in Denver.
We left Wednesday and returned Sunday, it was a fun trip and it was nice to get a break for a bit. There is just nothing like spending time with your girlfriends!

Lindsey took us all around downtown Denver. The day we arrived we went to La Fondue, 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square, Ale House and we rented bikes and road around the city.

That was all day one!!!! Day two we went and had breakfast at Jelly, shopped at Cherry Creek Mall, took a tour of Hammond's Candy Factory, tour of the Great Divide, Illegal Petes for dinner and Stoneys for trivia night.

Day 3 we went to Molly Browns museum, it was in a house she use to live in. Then we spent the day hiking, which was so beautiful. We got dressed in our boots and went to Carmines on Penn for dinner and then Charlie Brown's, a piano bar for some singing and yes, we sat at the piano and sang almost all night.

Day four we went antique shopping and some thrift shopping, it was a rainy day and it made us sleepy so we all went back to Lindsey's and took a nap. That night we went to an adult arcade called 1up and we played games and a huge jenga game. Then we went to the Tavern and had fun bowling and dancing. While we were there we also met a fun group of people, three of them were siblings and the other two were friends of theirs. It was fun to get to know some natives and spend some time with them. Lindsey has kept in touch so it's good for her. This was a great last night in Denver. I think our next trip is going to be with our husbands this spring or summer.

I am so blessed to have some great friends, we had the best time and this will be a trip I will always remember. Thank you Lindsey for hosting us and thank you Keri for being the best travel mate ever! LOVE YOU GIRLS!
