Traditions

Christmas Traditions for us are still developing and will change as the kids get older.

My main goal is to make sure they know the true celebration for Christmas. We refer to Christmas as a big birthday party for Jesus and on Christmas we have a birthday cake for Him.

Something else we have done is Elf on the Shelf, last year was our first year and we named our elf Sam. He'll be coming back right after Thanksgiving, we're excited to see him.

We are pretty flexible as far as Christmas eve and Christmas day rituals go. Every other year we switch off families so one year we are here with Aaron's family and the next we are in Arkansas with my family. One thing we do no matter where we are is a Christmas eve service.

Santa always comes Christmas eve after everyone is sleeping and he fills everyone's stocking then leaves three gift for each child. He is so generous because of the reindeer food and the cookies and milk we leave.

Many more traditions to come as the years go by, but the most important is celebrating the birth of our Savior.

Link up your traditions here.

  3. We also have a cake for Jesus every Christmas day too. It's so important to remember the reason for the season.

  6. Love these Caroline! We're starting traditions with Brogan this year and one of them is the Elf on the Shelf...although, I personally thought the Elf that came with the book was super creepy so I bought a different one! Hopefully it works :)

Our church always has a Birthday Party for Jesus service on Christmas Eve that I want to start taking Brogan too.

Have fun with all your traditions lady!
