School Supplies

I have lots of new traditions that will start this year. Many of them involve the start of kindergarten.
Taylynn had a huge supply list so I thought it would be fun for Aaron and me to take her on a date. We went to dinner then shopping, she really enjoyed the time with the two of us and we both enjoyed seeing Taylynn without her brothers or sister around. It's amazing how children are so different when their siblings aren't around.

This is a big week for Taylynn, I am so excited for her. If you think of it pray for me as I deal with sending my first baby off to kindergarten and my second baby off to preschool all in one day. It is going to be a rough day.

Texas Goodies

I am heading out with some friends to Texas today!!!! We are going to a MOPS (mom's of preschoolers) convention to prepare for the next year of MOPS. We'll be there tonight and back Sunday night.
We plan on having lots of fun there and I wanted to add to it by making some goodies so I made shirts bags and labeled some notebooks and added pens.

Lets start with the shirts. I used a regular T-shirt transfer, but when they came out, they looked too "good" so I added a little bit of sanding to the shirts. I used an orbital sander and honestly wasn't sure what would happen when I took it to the jersy material, but it worked and didn't make a hole in the shirt or anything. It added an aged look, which if you know me, I LOVE!

I knew we'd need to carry around a note pad and something to write with so I picked up some cute notebooks at Target and added the "Caroline touch" I made labels with the girls names and stuck it on. One simple way to make something more fun!

Now that the girls have a note book they needed something to put it in when we go from class to class. I bought some plain ol' canvas bags and added some paint. I used a gray spray paint and then hand painted the letters on the bags.

We leave in four hours and I still need to go shopping at the mall, finish packing, get the house ready for my husband, do my Zumba workout and run by my church! Yikes!!!!! Better go!
Pray for us that we have safe travels and that our husbands have a fun, yet uneventful time with all the children. May I add we are leaving behind 14 kiddos! Pray for them also.

Ten Months

Chandler you are 10 months old, only two more months until your big ONE and your big party! Lots of preparation going on here.

This month you:
Learned to stand without holding on
Started walking around holding on to furniture
Began Saying no, no, no after me
Got very good at drinking from a straw
Weigh in at 23.5 pounds
Found that nibbling on my cheek really makes me laugh so you insist on using those teeth to give me bite kisses
Did NOT figure out how to sleep through the night, OR put yourself to sleep

It has been a great month and I am blessed for all the days I have with you. You are still the happiest baby ever! We have big plans to celebrate your first year of life. Your a special boy that I have been blessed with. I have big plans for the man I would like you to be......a father, a husband, a hard worker, fun to be around guy,  the list goes on. But the truth is all I want is for you to be a man of God. I want you to love God and follow Him. Even when the path is unclear use your faith and let the Lord lead you. I will pray that you also have those things above, but along with that and above it all I want you to be happy and I know that total fulfillment come from God alone.

Although I don't want you to grow up or get any older, I pray for your future. I pray for your wife and her life as a little girl, I pray that her parents will raise her to know God. If not, then I pray she will be introduced to Him and fill her heart with him. I pray for your children. for their faith in God, health, happiness and their spouses and family.

I am dedicated to being the best mom I can to you and your brother and sisters. I fail often, but as you will see failing is a part of learning. I love you and I am so excited for your future.

Busy bee

Hi all, I am here just running around like a chicken with my head cut off.
Last Friday I took a Zumba training course, so now I am licensed to teach Zumba and that is what I have been doing all the time. I am worn out!!! And my brain is fried from memorizing music and moves. When I lay down at night all I hear is music and words in Spanish that I have no clue what they are in English.
I will start my first class August 20th for anyone in Topeka who would like to come contact me and I'll send you details.
On top of that we are house hunting, we are looking for some land, no news now, but we're looking!

I leave for Texas in one week for a MOPS confernce.

I have been working on some things for my blogger/facebook friend Laura:

Family Water Gun Fight

Sometimes it's good to have a fight and get it all out!
We had our first ever family water gun fight and it was so fun and really funny. I love this picture of Alayna's fast little feet.
I had the camera, but I was still in attack mode.

This is going to have to be an annual thing and next year Chandler can play too!

Tea and dress up

We spent some time with our neighbors this morning while the weather was cooler. We had a tea party and brought out some vintage costumes for the girls to dress up in.

Life is nice with a little sugar and spice!
