Meet the Letters

****This is not an infomercial post, it just sounds like it :)****

I have a video to share with you today. If you have young children, you'll want to see this.
My daughter has been able to identify her lower and upper case ABC'S. All of them since she was 17 months old. I would show her a letter and she would say it. I cannot for the life of me find the video of her doing this, so I recorded her today at 2 1/2. Preston is in the process of learning them, but he is 15 months and has a lot to learn in the next couple months.



They have learned the upper case and lower case letters though the DVD Meet the Letters and then I practice with them at home using flash cards. Before they turn two their seems to be a window where their minds are open to learning and they pick things up really easy. I am hoping we can keep this up so that they both might be reading at age 3.

I took today practicing her upper and lower case flash cards.

The video seems to hold their interest. I always said I would never run around town with the DVD player on in the car, but I do. For one it keeps them happy and two, now they watch Meet the Letters and are learning. I am actually surprise Taylynn still gets excited to see it.

We got our first copy from the Library then bought a new one at Sam's Club for 9 dollars and it is worth the 9 dollars.

3 THINGS YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT ME.

1. Before I had Taylynn I spent my summers water skiing. I was doing it by my self at 3 years old. I cannot imaging Taylynn being hind a boat skiing. I wish I had a picture to put on here of me but I don't :(

Once I was in middle school I was a member of two ski clubs and began doing water ski shows. We would do pyramids and all kinds of fun stuff. I was really good I must say. I am not in this picture, I don't know that I even have a picture.

I was also a Swivel skiier, basaically ballet on water.

Once again not of me, but you get the idea
2. I love stargazer Lilies, they remind me of weddings and I love weddings. I have some on my table right now!

3. I am thinking of going on Slim Fast, anyone have a good experience? Or bad?

Kansas City

The Friday before the 4th we went to Kansas City and did some shopping and played around. We love going to Legends an outdoor sopping center. Something about shopping outside keeps the babies happy.
This shopping center has a lot of outlet stores, one of which is Gymboree. You can buy last years items for about 40% less than what they were the year before. Plus when they go one sale you can get some great deals. I bought Taylynn a dress and Preston a shirt and some hair bows.
Gymboree (the regualar store, not outlet) has a really adorable line called tea for two. LOVE IT! My mom is going to get Taylynn so clothes from this line, they didn't have a picture of the outfit I want put together so I just put this one. Cute Huh?

I find it hard to match Taylynn and Preston, but once in a while I get it done. Does anyone know a place that has matching clothes for boys and girls?

Cabelas

Bows!

This was another lost picture off my camera phone. Doesn't she look like a doll? She has changed so much and it has only been 5 months at the most. Why does the time go by so quickly once you have children. All I want is for it to slow down just a bit.

I have started making my own bows, and they are so easy. It takes about 4 minutes for me to complete one bow. That beats spending 4 dollars on one bow! I thought about selling them on my etsy store, but I don't know. So many people sell bows. If you want one let me know. I am going to do a giveaway of 4 or 5 bows coming up this month.

Weekend

This weekend we had a BBQ with our small group. We normally don't include the children, but we did for this event. The Koci's have 15 barn cats. Taylynn and Preston LOVED them.

My mom also bought Taylynn a new swimming suit this weekend, can you say ADORABLE! It is from where else, but Gymboree.This week is going to be great. Keri, one of my best friends is coming back from Colorado. She has been their for the last month with her family for her husbands job. I am so glad she'll be back. Girls night tomorrow is going to be GREAT. The Bachelorette is going to be great too now that Wes is gone :) Plus she gets it down to two guys. I think she should keep Kypton and Reid, but we'll see.

Super Bowl 2009

This week I will be adding some past pictures that were stuck on my phone. Today, no tonights photos are from Super Bowl 2009. We were at our good friends Shane and Darci Koci's house with the rest of our small group. Here are some pictures of the fun Taylynn and Andrew had.
