louisiana

 Back towards the end of May we went to Louisiana and I am just now blogging about it. What i didn't know at the time (because it wasn't decided until after we left), this trip will be the last to my grandparent's house. It is sad, but the real good news is they are moving 7 hours closer to us!!!!! I am excited about this. It is hard to see them move from a place they have loved so much, but more memories are to come and the love goes where they go, not where they have lived!

We had the best trip and it will never be forgotten. I am blessed to have photos and then have a place to record our memories!

We drove to Arkansas first then spent the night and left early in the morning for Louisiana.

This was a wonderful trip. Relaxing and fun......other than the short moment when Chandler was lost about half a mile into the woods!!!! We found him, everything was fine!

We spent a day in Arkansas before heading home, I randomly snapped some pictures, but most of the time we were going to garage sales and an auction.....I did bring lots of goodies home!

Vacation!!!!!

Aaron and I planned on a special thirtieth birthday celebration. We had plans to travel further, but KC is what worked best for us. We first took all the children to AR because my parents were watching them while we were having fun!!

We dropped them off Sunday then headed to Excelsior Springs the next morning at FIVE in the morning!!! We had a tee time at 10:08 so we needed to get there. Our friends Jamie and Keri CBS 

Quinton and Cyndi met us there.

The wives just planned on riding around in the golf cart and it really was so much fun! We did take one swing....

We let the guys play 18 holes and then we went for lunch at Wanash BBQ. After checking into the hotel we got our suits on and went for a dip

Then went to dinner inside the hotel. Those nice clothes didn't last long. Right after dinner we got back in the pool! Here are the pools at the Elms Hotel 

 

The next morning we headed to the spa for the Grotto room and our massages.

Then back out to the pool!!!

I think the guys were there too.......  

Cyndi and Quniton had to leave, but Keri and Jamie planned on one more night. We checked out and went shopping and exploring in KC.

We were having such a great time that I didn't take ANY PICTURES until the next day :(

I found one! We went to a dueling piano bar at Power and Light. This was a lot of fun!!! We had a great night. We danced, laughed, had late night hamburgers and fries. And then we got up at 7:30 in the morning!!!!!

 

We went to breakfast together then to the Boulevard Brewery. After that we went to lunch and then shopping at Legends. 

Keri and Jamie went home and we went to Bonner Springs to get our hotel for the night and get ready to go to the John Mayer Concert. The concert......it was a blast!!!!

We walked from our hotel.....it was good excercise :)

The next morning we went back to KC this time to the Country Club Plaza. We go there a lot throughout the year, but believe me when I say it's totally different when you stay the night there. It's a bit more freeing to not be on a schedule or need to drive anywhere,

My favorite store, Anthroplogie!!! I had fun trying on outfits and asking my Facebook and instafriends for advice on what to buy. They all picked the top left picture!!!!

I bought it!!!!!

We ate at Brio for lunch! My new favorite spot.

After lunch we went and checked in at the Intercontinental and hit the pool.

After TOO MUCH sun we went back to the plaza for more shopping and dinner!

Aaron's phone was dead and mine was MIA, and is still MIA, probably never to be seen again. Oh we'll! So I am trying to say we didn't get any pictures of the evening, but we ate at Zocalo Mexican Mexican Cuisine and Tequileria. It was really good!!!

I ran into an instafriend who just happened to be there too. We had never met in person so it was great that she recognized me. She was so sweet and I got to met her husband and two of her six daughters. That's the first social media friend I have got to meet in real life!!!

We hit cheesecake factory and bought cheesecake to take back to our room and then I crashed!!!

The next morning we went to Classic Cup for breakfast, amazing!!!!

We shopped a bit. I took a quick dip in the pool and now we are headed back to AR to see the kids and my parents and celebrate Alayna's third birthday!!!
